TWO (UNROMANTIC) BUT NECESSARY SKILLS YOU NEED TO FIND LOVE IN 2024
Why is there so much negativity surrounding dating apps, and yet every time I dive into the world of online dating for my clients, I encounter wholesome, emotionally intelligent, commitment-oriented men—EVERY. SINGLE. TIME?
The answer is surprisingly simple: skill and strategy.
If the idea of having skills and strategy in dating feels inauthentic to you, think of it like this: in 2024, not incorporating AI into your business is comparable to ignoring the importance of honing your dating prowess.
Sure, there are trends where men seem to put in less effort, and yes, online scams are on the rise. There's a shift towards fewer people embracing monogamy and marriage - agreed.
But why let these trends become your problem? It's time to turn these challenges into your competitive advantage.
Why wouldn't you want to learn and grow in this area when skills and strategy can make a world of difference in your future happiness?
What have you got to lose?
Actually, quite a lot.
Without these skills, you miss out on high-quality opportunities for meaningful connections and a long-term, loving partnership, which absolutely still exists.
Humans are designed to be together, to love, and to build families.
Don't dismiss it so quickly.
Don't fall prey to the narratives about how much dating sucks these days. Pointing fingers at these reasons will leave you with nothing.
Overcome them.
You are a winner. You are a survivor. You can make this work for you.
I'm not saying you need a relationship to be happy or fulfilled. I'm simply saying that if you want one, it's not impossible. It's highly possible for you!
Learn how to get your love if that's what you want!
If you're not out there trying, learning, and growing, you'll be left behind.
Love is available to you.
Discipline:
Remember, finding the right person is often a journey that requires time, self-awareness, and a disciplined approach to navigating the complexities of dating. By incorporating discipline into your dating life, you increase the chances of forming a meaningful and lasting connection with someone who aligns with your values and goals.
Being disciplined in your approach to dating means being consistent in your actions. Show up for yourself, working little by little toward the goal. That means not neglecting the top of the funnel and going on that date even when you feel like staying under the covers on a breezy night. Schedule in swipe and dating time and, of course, time for yourself, but putting your love life first will get you to your love goals.
Discipline involves learning from past experiences, both positive and negative. Reflect on previous relationships to understand what worked well and what didn't, guiding your choices in future dating endeavors. It means getting that extra help if you notice patterns or lackluster results.
Staying true to yourself is also related to discipline. It allows you to stay true to who you are and what you want in a relationship. It prevents you from compromising your values or changing yourself to fit someone else's expectations, or getting weak in the knees and throwing caution to the wind. Being disciplined with The Manfunnel Approach instead of falling victim to Oxytocin traps will get you there.
Resilience:
Resilience is a valuable trait that can significantly contribute to success in dating. Dating often involves navigating various challenges, setbacks, and uncertainties. Being resilient can help you bounce back from disappointments, maintain a positive outlook, and learn and grow from your experiences.
But Megan, you ask, how can I develop resilience in dating?
Just about every interaction you'll have with me in coaching is geared toward building your resilience muscle so that instead of setbacks and little heart's wounds making you want to hide, you'll be able to shine your heart's light out into the world to attract more magic.
The stories you tell yourself based on every interaction can be the heart of the problem. Learning how to see the world as magical and move through it toward your one is the goal. In between all of this is a process where everything we do holistically is building your emotional resilience through new ways of viewing things, the world, understanding men, and having a supporting teacher by your side.
If you're finding that you want to delete the apps and upload them again two weeks later, or even two days later, or if you're ready to throw in the towel and forget having a relationship overall, it's a clear sign building your dating resilience could make a huge difference in your life!
